Why GAWA
TOWARDS A GREENER, CLEANER NAMIBIA
The environment has become a priority issue for many countries. Billions are spent annually on reversing the damage we have done to our home.
More policies and technological advances are unending, ever-astounding, and most certainly facilitators of rapid and exciting change.
All of this amounts to very little, when what is truly needed is for each nation’s people (its sons and daughters; its corporations and businesses) to willingly enter into collective cooperation to, quite literally, turn back the tide.
Most do what they can, but some go far and above by aiming to make their country cleaner and greener.
In this regard, we are delighted that the Namibian Government has established itself as a leader in creating and implementing green legislation.
According to the Environmental Performance Index (EPI) – an internationally recognised method of quantifying and numerically benchmarking the environmental performance of a country’s policies – Namibia shines brightly, with a ranking of 88 world-wide and within the top 4 in Africa.
With the goal of helping our Government build upon this steadfast platform, GAWA is a group of citizens and companies who has taken a stand alongside like-minded members of the international community: people who have set their sights on making their respective countries the cleanest and greenest it can possibly be, in habitats and homes, in offices and towns, in cities and villages.
This desire to bring change to our planet, benefiting all generations to come, is being implemented with vigour, drive, fervour and passion by GAWA in our homeland, The Republic of Namibia!
