With a staggering 3 million Namibian dollars (all provided by Namibia’s Business Sector) at our disposal in terms of launching the first GAWA initiative, the organisation is confident that we will be successful in our first objective, which is to get the GAWA bins into:
the majority of Namibia’s Large Corporates
all of the government offices in the capital
all of the Parastatals within the capital
at least 20% of Windhoek’s small to medium size enterprises (20 – 50 personnel)
… All within one year from the date of launch
To achieve this first important step in full stride, we have formed our first partnerships with like-minded companies within the capital, who together have worked closely to create and ensure that the project is a success by lending their expertise and services to the initiative.
Through our first initiative, GAWA will provide two types of recycling bins* to Namibian companies:
A smaller GAWA bin (one metre high and very cute) to be utilised for the collection of used paper
A larger GAWA bin (one-and-a-half metre and also very cute) to be utilised for the collection of plastic (primarily bottles, paper bags, CD wrappings, delivery and plastic packaging etc.)
* Bins will initially be available in the g etc.)City of Windhoek area; however we have developed a long term strategic plan, to build our networks of networks countrywide.
